As I was praying this morning, the thought came to mind "Who are you listening to?"
I confess I'm one of those that has something playing all the time: whether it's a sermon, worship music, instrumental music, or ASMR (background sounds). I do a lot of reading and I'm always taking a course.
Lately, I've been thinking about the people I allow to influence my life. Several weeks ago I started a list of all the people I listen to and then divided them up into YES, NO, I DON'T KNOW.
I prayed over my list and I still refer back it, asking God, "who do I allow to influence me?"
With the shaking in our country, there's a shaking in Kingdom voices right now as well. Everything we do is connected. Your business isn't separate from your life or relationship with God. What you allow to influence you spiritually, personally, professionally...it's all connected.
As we step into this new year, new season, why not join me in re-evaluating the voices we allow in our lives. Invite the Holy Spirit to be your primary Counselor and then guide you as to who you need to be listening to.
ONE NOTE: Just because God directs you to stop listening to someone doesn't mean it's necessarily because they are bad or wrong. It could simply be that you are moving into a different time in your life and He wants you to focus on specific things.

I'm a very introspective person. Even the littlest things I encounter in my day cause me to ponder and think deeply. This can be a drain on my emotions. The Psalms of King David are so relatable to me because one day I can be standing firm, confident, and shouting the praises of God, and the next day wondering why I'm even living - but I also come back to I praise God anyway in the midst of my darkest questions.
Mondays are intended to be reserved for study of the Word and time in His Presence. But my best intentions often get bushed back with pending issues with the business. Yet this morning, I was determined to reclaim my Mondays, and as I sit here with my Bible, pen, and paper - a thought fluttered by about all the work I could be doing and I quickly swatted it down because I NEED THIS DAY TO BE A BETTER ME. I need this day to do business better, to interact with family, friends, and customers with grace and mercy.
